Parents be on the alert! People are actually stealing Webkinz codes according to speedofcreativity.org. Apparently, these hoodlums are going through the store to the Webkinz display and just ripping off the codes and leaving the Webkinz stuffed animals. What does this mean to you? Well, basically you can buy the cutest webkinz stuffed animal in the store and bring it home to the delight of your child, only to have it rendered useless by the fact that there is no webkinz code attached.
How can you make sure this doesn’t happen to you? Well if your new to the webkinz experience, you may not know what to look for. Every Webkinz stuffed animal should come an attached webkinz code SEALED in plastic.

That way you know it has not been tampered with.
Surprisingly, JC penny’s is attempting to still sale these defective Webkinz at a reduced price.

Personally, I have nothing against the store trying to sell off their damaged goods (they are a victim here too.) but hopefully they are somehow making it quite clear that these Webkinz stuffed animals have no webkinz code and you would be purchasing these new Webkinz with the knowledge that your child could not participate in the Webkinz world . Perhaps in the future, stores that sell webkinz could keep them in a locked display case or behind the the counter. It’s sad , but necessary.
